Full Belly Fundamentals: How to Make the Perfect Grilled Cheese

This has proven to be the most foolproof method for me to get the perfect grilled cheese everytime. Cooking it over low heat ensures that you can check it regularly to minimize the chances of burning it while making sure that the cheese gets nice and melty.





 

Let's grill!



Essential Equipment

My cheese grater, is the walnut handled conial grater from Williams Sonoma. I love that it keeps the grated contents contained.


I used my skillet to fry this lovey grilled cheese. I am seriously obsessed with Great Jones.


Step 1: Grate your cheese

 I use, white cheddar, yellow cheddar, and Gouda and grate them to maximize the meltiness.



Step 2: Butter the bread, add the cheese

I then spread butter on both sides of some nice bread and add the grated cheese.



Step 3: Grill the grilled cheese

Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to a pan over low/medium heat. Add the grilled cheese to the pan. Cover the pan and let cook for 5 minutes over low/medium heat.




Step 4: Enjoy your melty cheese.
